Welcome to the Hospital in Enköping – great care in a small format! Here, about 700 dedicated colleagues work in an environment where close collaboration and community are a given. We are located in an expanding region with convenient commuting options to Stockholm, Uppsala, and Västerås. For those considering relocating to live near their job, the Enköping region has much to offer. The hospital provides emergency and planned care for approximately 72,000 residents in Enköping, Håbo, and Southern Heby, and we also have specialist assignments throughout Uppsala County. Here, you can make a difference - for the patients and for the organization - in a work environment where we continuously develop together. Would you like to be part of our team? A warm welcome to the Hospital in Enköping!
Our Operations
The emergency department plays a central role in the operations of the hospital and is open around the clock. We staff a call line for primary emergency surgery/urology/orthopedics, and during the day, there is also a surgical and orthopedic backup on site. During on-call hours, the surgical backup takes over responsibility. We receive patients of all ages with various diagnoses. Our area of operations also includes a care ward where we primarily care for orthopedic patients after prosthetic surgery, but also some surgical and urology patients. Our clinics and surgical operations have an elective profile. Together with our partner, Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala, our mission is to ensure the region's care at various levels.
Your Mission
We are now looking for someone who wants to work daytime as a specialist physician in the Emergency Department to strengthen competence and leadership, alternating with ward responsibility on different weeks. You will hold a clinical role and have leadership responsibility for patient flow together with junior doctors, resident doctors, and the responsible nurse whom you assist in decision-making. You will guide, support, and contribute to a smooth and short care process for patients. On-call work occurs to a lesser extent as primary on-call. The work is independent but is done in consultation with the backup. In the ward, we expect you to continuously and actively take responsibility for patient safety work and development in consultation with section managers and the ward manager. Here, you will have the opportunity to focus on leadership and development work while ensuring that patient care remains the priority.
Your Qualifications
Specialist in surgery, orthopedics, or emergency medicine. We consider it an advantage if you have experience in development, leadership work, and have supervisor training.
Your Competence
You have good judgment, strong collaboration skills, are accustomed to solving problems, are responsible and flexible. You are clear, communicative, and have a structured working method. You find it easy to collaborate and enjoy creating engagement and participation. You continuously update your knowledge. You work evidence-based with the patient's best interests in focus and create a good working climate for yourself and your colleagues. You have a strong interest in working in the emergency department.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
We Offer
Fixed-term full-time employment, with the possibility of a permanent position. Part-time can be discussed if desired. Start date by agreement.
If you lack supervisor training, we offer it to you. We start with an introduction and, if necessary, we will tailor the work individually based on your needs and previous experiences. Please attach your specialist certificate.
Here, there are opportunities for personal development and potentially a start to a future career in leadership work.
